Day 38 - Deck Pour
The pump truck was set in position so that it could reach the entire bridge.

The workers move as a team to position the concrete for the finishing machine.

This is the setup from the pump truck. Concrete is dumped into the back and pumped to the deck.
One guy operates the pump chute while another man uses a vibrator to consolidate the concrete.

After the surface is finished then a wire brush is used to scrape the surface to add friction.

The foreman works the float to smooth all imperfections out of the surface.

The crew sprayed the surface with curing agent at the rate of 1 gallon / 150 ft. according to section 703.3.6.3.2.2. A total of 15 gallons was used on the bridge.

Burlap was hosed down and then placed on the bridge. Soaker hoses connecting to a pump were placed on the deck to maintain a wet surface.
