Day 24 - Form work for bridge
The contractor started by placing hanging jacks on the side of the girders on the north and south side of the bridge. The NU girders have precast holes in them to allow for the rod from the hanging jack to attach to the bridge.
This picture shows the hanging jacks after they were placed on the bridge.
This shows the hanging jacks from the bottom of the bridge. They rest on the tension side of the girder.
The silt fence was installed on the east end of the project.
The contractor began on the form work by laying 2x4s and plywood sheathing.
The forms for the diaphragm were cut and put in position.
